The Sankofa Pan-African Awards has honoured the National Youth Ambassador for Peace and Development and Zongo Youth Ambassador, Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, during its National Heritage Edition 2026, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to community-driven enterprise, youth employment, and inclusive development across Ghana and beyond.
The prestigious recognition celebrates Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu’s consistent efforts in empowering young people through sustainable business initiatives, skills development, and job creation. His leadership as President and Founder of the award-winning Afro-Arab Group of Companies has created opportunities for hundreds of youth, particularly in underserved communities, while promoting economic inclusion and social transformation.
Over the years, Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu has distinguished himself as a passionate advocate for youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and entrepreneurship. Through various programmes and interventions led by the Afro-Arab Group, he has supported employment creation, entrepreneurship training, and community-focused development initiatives that continue to improve livelihoods and restore hope among young people.
The honour formed part of the National Heritage Edition 2026 of the Sankofa Pan-African Awards, an edition dedicated to recognising individuals and institutions whose work reflects Africa’s cultural identity, leadership excellence, and sustainable development impact. The event highlighted the importance of preserving heritage while promoting innovation and economic empowerment across the continent.
The award was received on his behalf by Dickson Boadi at a colourful ceremony held at the National Theatre on 26 February 2026, attended by dignitaries, youth leaders, development partners, and representatives from various sectors across Africa.
Receiving the honour on behalf of Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, Dickson Boadi expressed appreciation to the organisers for recognising the Ambassador’s efforts and vision.
“This honour is deeply appreciated, and Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu is grateful to the Sankofa Pan-African Awards for this recognition,” he said. “This award is not only a personal recognition, but a testament to the collective efforts of the Afro-Arab Group and all partners who share the vision of empowering youth, promoting enterprise, and advancing inclusive development.”
