Earlier today, the Salaga-South Constituency Chairman, Mr. Abdul Abdul Aziz, popularly known as Chairman Abotsi, donated five boxes containing ten streetlights to Salaga Senior High School.
The donation came in response to a formal request submitted by the school to the office of the Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, seeking assistance to improve visibility and enhance security on the campus.
Speaking during the presentation, Chairman Abotsi urged the Headmaster and school authorities to ensure the streetlights are properly installed and put to good use. He reassured the school community that the MP remains committed to addressing the needs of the institution, including the provision of infrastructure, as well as teaching and learning materials, to foster an effective and conducive learning environment.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the school, Headmaster Mr. Abubakari Abdul Ganiwu expressed profound gratitude to the MP for her swift response. He described the donation as timely, noting that a school management meeting earlier that morning had identified the lack of streetlights as a major challenge.
“Receiving these streetlights shortly after our discussion was the best news for the school today. The campus had largely been dark at night, and the installation of these lights will significantly improve safety and visibility,” he said. Mr. Ganiwu added, “The whole campus was dark, and receiving these streetlights means the MP is lighting her chances. We pray that God continues to bless her so she can continue to serve us.”
Also present at the event were Mr. George Aboagye, Assistant Headmaster in charge of Administration; Alhaji Ibrahim Mumuni, Assistant Headmaster in charge of Academics; and other members of the teaching staff.
