Ghanaian female travel content creator Efyakimora has been left devastated after losing her DJI Osmo Pocket 3 video camera while transiting through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi, Kenya.

The incident occurred as Efya was traveling from Ghana to Namibia, with plans to continue her travel assignment in Malawi. According to her account, the loss happened during a transit stop at the Nairobi airport while she was waiting to board her connecting flight to Namibia.

Efya explained that she visited the washroom at the airport and only realized her camera was missing later when she attempted to film her meal. Upon noticing the loss, she immediately reported the incident to airport authorities. Security officers at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport reportedly made efforts to assist her in retrieving the device.

However, due to limited CCTV camera coverage inside the washroom, security officials were unable to trace the missing camera. This has made recovery difficult, leaving the case unresolved. People who were present at the airport at the time have since raised suspicions, with some suggesting that a cleaner who was on duty during Efya’s visit to the washroom may have taken the device. No official confirmation has been made regarding this claim.

The loss is particularly painful for the content creator, as the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is a key tool for her work. Efya is known for documenting her travels across the globe and has visited over 20 countries across Africa, as well as two Asian countries-Singapore and the Philippines.

In an emotional response, Efya noted that she usually travels with Ethiopian Airlines, but opted for Kenya Airways for this trip due to budget considerations, describing herself as a budget traveler. Unfortunately, this journey has become her first trip of 2026, marked by the loss of her essential filming equipment.

Despite the setback, Efya remains determined to continue her travel assignments in Namibia and Malawi. Supporters and fellow content creators have since expressed sympathy, encouraging her to stay strong and continue inspiring audiences with her travel stories.

The incident has also sparked conversations online about airport security, travelers’ vigilance, and the challenges faced by content creators who rely heavily on their equipment while on the road.
