A man convicted for a series of killings in Wa in the Upper West Region has revealed the reason behind the attacks that left residents shocked and fearful.
During investigations, the suspect admitted responsibility for multiple murders and disclosed that his actions were motivated by a desire to make money through ritual practices. According to reports, he told investigators that he believed the killings would help him acquire wealth through spiritual means.
The revelation came after police intensified investigations into a series of mysterious killings that had troubled the Wa municipality and surrounding communities. The incidents had sparked widespread fear among residents, with many demanding swift action from security agencies.
Authorities eventually arrested the suspect after gathering evidence linking him to the crimes. During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to carrying out several murders and provided details that helped investigators understand how the attacks were executed.
The suspect said he deliberately targeted victims as part of what he described as ritual activities intended to bring financial gain. His confession confirmed suspicions that the killings were connected to ritualistic motives rather than random attacks.
The case was later brought before the court, where the accused pleaded guilty to several counts related to the murders. After reviewing the evidence and the confession, the court sentenced him to life imprisonment.
The sentencing has been welcomed by residents of Wa and surrounding communities, many of whom had lived in fear while the killings were occurring. Community members say the court’s decision brings some relief and justice to the families of the victims.
Local leaders and residents have also called for stronger security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. They stressed the need for greater public awareness and cooperation with law enforcement agencies to help identify suspicious activities early.
Security experts say the case highlights the importance of vigilance and community policing. They note that collaboration between residents and security agencies can play a key role in preventing crime and ensuring public safety.
The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to protecting communities across the country and has urged citizens to promptly report suspicious behaviour to authorities.
Although the court’s ruling has brought the case to a close, the tragic killings remain one of the most disturbing incidents recorded in the Upper West Region in recent years.
Following the sentencing of serial killer Sharrif Abdulai Saani, also known as “Kratos” or “God of War,” the principal state attorney appeared visibly shaken by the testimony delivered by the convicted killer.
According to him, Saani stated that his actions were driven by the… pic.twitter.com/sQx5A98A3Y
