EOCO Requests Consent to Ship Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini to the United States

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has formally requested the consent of Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale to ship his seized yellow Lamborghini Urus to the United States as part of an ongoing international investigation.

The request was confirmed by Sammy Flex, Public Relations Manager of the Shatta Movement, who disclosed that a court document initiated by EOCO has been served on the artiste’s team, seeking his approval for the transfer of the luxury vehicle abroad. According to him, the document has been forwarded to Shatta Wale’s legal representatives, who are currently handling the matter through the appropriate legal processes.

The Lamborghini was earlier confiscated from Shatta Wale’s residence in Trassaco Valley, Accra, following investigations linked to international financial crime. The seizure was carried out after a request from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Department of Justice, as part of asset recovery efforts connected to a fraud case in the United States.

Authorities allege that the vehicle is linked to assets associated with Nana Kwabena Amuah, a convicted fraudster currently serving a prison sentence in the U.S. The car is believed to form part of properties targeted for restitution and recovery processes for victims of financial crimes.

Shatta Wale has, however, consistently denied any involvement in criminal activity, maintaining that he legitimately purchased the vehicle for approximately US$150,000 and had no knowledge of any alleged illegal links to its ownership. His camp has reiterated that the artiste remains innocent of any wrongdoing and is cooperating fully with legal procedures.

The request by EOCO to ship the vehicle marks a new stage in the high-profile case, which has attracted national and international attention due to its intersection of entertainment, international crime investigations, and cross-border asset recovery.

Legal processes are currently ongoing as both Ghanaian and U.S. authorities continue to work through formal judicial and diplomatic channels to determine the final outcome of the matter.
